PMRU Volunteer - Medical Rehabilitation - Spring 2026

Description

Medical Rehabilitation Volunteers support patients by providing companionship, encouragement, and engagement during their recovery process. This role enhances the patient experience through meaningful interaction and assistance with simple, supportive tasks under staff guidance.

Medical Rehabilitation Volunteers:

  • Engage in recreational activities with patients
  • Socialize and provide companionship
  • Accompany patients off the unit when appropriate and permitted by staff
  • Complete tasks assigned by department staff, such as:
    • Stocking cabinets
    • Filling water pitchers
  • Offer friendly conversation to help create a positive and uplifting environment

Please note: This assignment has very limited availability. Due to the nature of the role, secondary approval from the Activities Coordinator is required.
