ADOLESCENT Behavioral and Mental Health Services Volunteer (BSU) - Spring 2026

Engage with patients through conversation and recreational activities, offering a supportive and positive presence on the unit. Volunteers help ensure a safe environment by observing and sharing concerns with staff, while serving as calm and appropriate role models. Building rapport with patients, encouraging participation in groups, and sharing personal talents or interests (as approved by staff) are all valuable parts of this role.   Due to the nature of this assignment, both the department head and Activities Coordinator must approve volunteer.   Adolescent Behavior and Mental Health Volunteers:

• Visit and socialize with patients in a supportive, respectful manner
• Encourage participation in groups, games, and recreational activities
• Observe and report any potential safety concerns to staff, modeling appropriate behavior.

YOU MUST have volunteered with us for at least 4 months to be considered for this assignment placement.
