Behavioral And Mental Health Services Volunteer (BSU) - Adult - Spring 2026

Support adult patients by offering companionship and helping create a welcoming, engaging environment. Volunteers assist the Recreation Therapist with preparing, delivering, and coordinating activities and special events. By being observant and approachable, program volunteers help identify patient needs and interests and contribute to a positive unit experience. Volunteers who wish to share personal talents or skills are encouraged to talk with unit staff about opportunities. Due to the nature of this assignment, approval from department leadership and Activities Coordinator is required for this assignment.

Behavioral and Mental Health Services Volunteers:

• Greet and engage with patients and fellow volunteers
• Support the Recreation Therapist with activity setup, coordination, and cleanup
• Offer awareness to staff about possible patient needs or interests
• Encourage participation in recreational and therapeutic activities
