Emergency Room Volunteer- Summer 2026

Provide compassionate, patient‑centered support to individuals and families during moments of stress and uncertainty. Emergency Room Volunteers play a meaningful role in creating a calm, supportive environment for patients in both treatment areas and the waiting space. By offering comfort, attentive presence, and practical assistance, volunteers help reduce anxiety and strengthen human connection at a critical time.  

Emergency Room Volunteers:

• Greet incoming patients and guests to the unit
• Provide companionship, reduce stress, and foster comfort and human connection
• Interact confidently and respectfully with patients from all walks of life
• Provide warm blankets, snacks, and drinks to patients
• Relay patient questions or feedback to nursing staff
• Stock supplies, including the blanket warmer
• Consistently round on patients in both the treatment area and waiting room
