Support patients in a meaningful, creative way—from the comfort of your own home—by crocheting or knitting items that bring warmth, comfort, and joy. This behind‑the‑scenes volunteer opportunity makes a significant impact without direct patient interaction. Each year, our Crochet & Knit Volunteers create over 100 blankets and 800 hats for patients of all ages, offering handmade items that provide both physical and emotional comfort. Whether you choose to make baby items or adult items, your time, talent, and creativity are deeply appreciated. We are here to help you succeed—volunteers are welcome to use our yarn supply, or you may use your own. Feel free to be as creative as you’d like—holiday‑themed hats, bright colors, soft pastels, and unique patterns are all welcome. Our only request is that soft yarns be used to ensure comfort for patients.
Below are helpful guidelines for your creations:
For Babies:
- Use 3‑ply yarn (baby or sport weight) NO bulky yarn (size 5 or above) due to infant safety
- Patterns are available upon request, or you may use your own
- All colors are welcome
For Adults:
- Use soft yarn in any weight
- No ply restrictions for adult items
- Use any pattern—feel free to be creative
